HSBC Online Transaction Portal – FAQ

The HSBC Online Transaction Portal is a digital platform that helps investors (New and Existing) to do their mutual fund transactions in a simple, user-friendly and secure way. The Mobile app is Invest Xpress and web page

How can I register on the HSBC Online Transaction Portal or Invest Xpress mobile application?

Visit https://invest.assetmanagement.hsbc.co.in OR download Invest Xpress mobile app from Google play or Apple Store.

New Investors

Step 1: Enter PAN and Date of Birth.

Step 2: After KYC verification, an SMS/Email will be sent on your registered KRA mobile number and email ID.

Step 3: Create a password and complete registration.

Existing Investors

Step 1: Enter PAN and Date of Birth.

Step 2: After KYC verification, Enter Folio Number and Bank Account Number (If you have multiple folios, any active folio where email and mobile number is registered can be selected).

Step 3: You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and email ID at folio level.

Step 4: Create a password and complete registration.

How can I create my MPIN to login through Invest Xpress (Mobile Application)?

Post registration, you need to login using your user id and password. After Login, the "Set MPIN" page will open where you need to create your MPIN for quick and easy access. The system will allow you to create your MPIN on the mobile application.

How can I reset or change my MPIN through Invest Xpress (Mobile Application)?

When you try to reset or change their MPIN the system shows a user verification page. On this page, you need to enter the user id and password (the same ones used for login). After that, an OTP validation will happen and once its successful, the system will allow them to reset their MPIN on the mobile application.

Who can transact online using HSBC Online Transaction Portal or Invest Xpress mobile Application?

Individual investors with following tax status are eligible to transact Online 

  • Resident Individual
  • Guardian on behalf of minor (RI & NRI both
  • Non-resident individual (NRI excluding being Non-resident of US / Canada)
  • Sole Proprietor

How can I create a new folio with "Single" / "Anyone or Survivor" mode of holding (MOH) post registration on HSBC Online Transaction Portal or Invest Xpress mobile app?

  • Click "Create New Folio" tab
  • Pop up message "Whom do you like to create folio for 'Minor' & 'Self'" is displayed for new folio creation
  • Input your personal details and FATCA for primary holder in case of Single mode of holding
  • In case of "Anyone or Survivor" mode of holding both personal details and FATCA are required for all the holders
  • Nominee and bank details are required for Primary holder only
  • Select scheme, transaction type followed by mode of payment to complete the transaction
  • Two different OTP will be triggered on registered email and mobile number
  • Post payment, successful confirmation screen is displayed along with transaction reference number
  • Transaction intimation will be sent on the registered contact details.

Note: “Single” mode of holding is only available for NRI investor to create new folio.

Can Non-Individual or HUF investors transact online using HSBC Online Transaction Portal or Invest Express App?

No, this portal is not available for Non-Individual and HUF category investors.

Post registration, how do I transact as an existing investor?

Visit https://invest.assetmanagement.hsbc.co.in or Invest Xpress mobile application.

Login with your registered Username and Password. Post login use the “Transact Now” tab for Financial transactions

Note: Please note that KYC is mandatory (Validated) for all account holders for investment of any value.

What do you mean by KYC complaint and if I am not KYC compliant. How can I proceed?

PAN of all the holders in the folio (including Guardian in case of Minor ) should carry  KYC Validated status, else will be treated as  Not KYC complaint

If PAN of any one of the holders or Guardian is not KYC Validated then investor will be routed to  complete EKYC Registration or modification online.  Investor can also do so through https://www.camsonline.com/Investors/Transactions/KYC/Paper-less-KYC

What financial transactions can be done online post Login with User ID and Password

New investor

  • Lumpsum purchase
  • SIP – Registration with or without initial debit

Existing investor

Note - Demat folio creation & FT / NFT transaction is not allowed in Demat folios. Investors need to contact their Depository participant for the said transactions. Demat folios are not accessible on the platform, and neither financial nor non-financial transactions can be performed.

YES, New and Existing investors can use this 'Quick Transaction' service and transact online with below process:

Existing Investor:
  • Enter PAN number and Date of Birth to validate the details.
  • OTP will be triggered on registered KRA email id and mobile number
  • Investor can choose the existing folio and transact
New Investor
  • Enter PAN number and Date of Birth to validate the details
  • OTP will be triggered on registered KRA email id and mobile number
  • New Investor: Click on "Create new folio"
  • Complete the steps to update personal details Nominee, FATCA, Bank details and proceed to transact

What Financial Transactions can be done via Quick Transaction?

New investor and Existing investor can transact the following Quick transaction requests:

  • Lumpsum purchase
  • SIP – Registration with or without initial debit
  • SIP Combo

What mode of holding are permitted for transacting on the HSBC Online Transaction Portal or Invest Xpress mobile app

Folios with Mode of Holding as 'Single', 'Anyone or Survivor' are allowed to transact online.

Can I transact online in a folio with mode of holding as 'Joint'?

Folios registered with 'Joint' Holding mode will be allowed to register a username and view the portfolio details only. However, online transactions shall be restricted, and such Investors need to submit the physical request for any transaction- Non-financial and Financial.

How can I initiate SIP Registration Without Initial Debit?

  • Yes, SIP registration can be initiated on the HSBC Online Transaction Portal/Invest Xpress App without an initial debit. If Checkbox “Pay First Installment Now “is ticked SIP will be registered with initial debit.
  • Checkbox “Pay First Installment Now “is not ticked - SIP will be registered without initial debit, and the debit towards SIP installment will start post registration with a gap of 21 Calander days in registration and scheduled SIP date.

Are there any charges applicable for using HSBC MF Online Transaction Portal or Invest Xpress mobile app?

Currently this online service offered by HSBC Mutual Fund is free of charge.

How can I invest with tax status as "Minor" on HSBC Online Transaction Portal or Invest Xpress app ?

In case of minor investment, folio will be created in the minor's name with the guardian details

  • Click "Create New Folio" tab
  • Input Guardian's PAN, personal details and FATCA details.
  • Bank account details provided should an Under Guardian bank acc
  • Upload proof (Passport/Birth Certificate/School Leaving Certificate) for date of birth of minor. In case of Legal guardian, also upload a copy of the court order

Note: No nominee can be registered in Minor Folio. Once Minor has attained the status of  a Major future transactions can be processed only after process is completed for change of tax status from Minor to Major Redemptionproceeds shall be credited only to the bank account held in the name of minor investor or to an account held jointly by minor with parent or legal guardian.

Can an investment done on behalf of the minor investor be jointly held by other investors?

No. Investment made on behalf of the minor investor cannot be jointly held by other unit holders.

Can a minor act as a Joint Applicant?

No. Minor cannot act as a joint applicant.

Can a minor be nominated in a folio?

Yes, minor can be nominated in a folio. However, investors need to provide mandatory guardian details, i.e. guardian's name, PAN, relationship along with date of birth of minor.

How can I edit or change my Email ID and Mobile Number?

Post login, select the folio number from drop down under the Profile section. Your details will appear at the folio level.

1. Click on the pencil icon and edit the exiting email Id /Mobile details

2. Complete the validation process with OTP

How many maximum nominations are allowed in the folio?

Currently a maximum of 3 nominees can be registered against a folio number.

How can I update FATCA/CRS details?

Under Profile section. Click on the FATCA/CRS link - Update KYC Information Using PAN | FATCA & CRS Online

How can I add a new bank in my folio?

Under the Profile section, click on "Update Bank" button. Follow these steps:

Step 1 - Open 'Profile

Step 2 – Click 'Folio Details'

Step 3 – Click 'Bank Payout Details' tab

Step 4 - Enter your new bank account number

Step 5 - Re-enter the bank account number

Step 6 - Get IFSC code (bank name, branch address, and city)

Note: 1. Your bank account will be credited with ₹1/- for third party validation. 2. Turnaround Time (TAT) is T+3 working days. Post successful validation, the new bank details will be updated in the requested folio number.

What is the maximum number of bank accounts that can be registered in a folio by an investor?

Maximum 5 bank account details can be registered under a folio.

How can I modify my address online in my folio?

Investor needs to change the address in KRA records through KYC modification tab Once the address is update in KRA the same will be auto updated in folio as well.

How can I modify my address in my KYC through HSBC Online Transaction Portal or Invest Xpress mobile app?

For address updation, please go to the 'Profile' section and click on the "KYC Modify" tab. Please note that – KYC can be modified using Aadhar based validation. You will be redirected to the CAMSKRA page. Steps to follow address change on KRA –

1. Verify Date of Birth and contact details

2. Upload PAN and review all personal details

3. Enter Aadhar number and OTP verification via Digi locker.

You can follow the further required steps/process to complete the address updation on CAMS KRA Page.

How can I create a new e-Mandate?

To create a new e-Mandate, follow these steps:

  • Click on e-Mandate from main menu & opt Create New e-Mandate.
  • Investor name, mode of holding, and contact details will auto-display based on folio selection.
  • Select Bank Type (only registered banks in the folio will appear in dropdown).
  • After entering details, you will be redirected to your bank page. Submit and authorize via Net Banking login.

Note: 1. You can set your own OTM limit up to ₹10 lakhs. 2. End date cannot be more than 40 years.

How can I cancel a registered e-Mandate?

To cancel an existing e-Mandate, follow these steps:

  • Click on e-Mandate in the main tab.
  • On the e-Mandate registration screen, you will see all registered e-Mandates.
  • Click on the Cancel e-Mandate tab against the mandate you want to cancel.
  • The cancellation will be completed within 48 hours after validation.

How can I cancel or pause my SIP?

Go to Portfolio section

  • Click on Systematic Transaction to view all active SIPs
  • Select the scheme name → Click on the 3 dots on the right side → Choose Manage SIP
  • Under Manage SIP, you will see two options: Cancel and Pause

Note: 1. SIP can be paused only once, for 1–3 months during the entire SIP tenure. 2. SIP cancellation turnaround time (TAT) is 2 business days.

What are the payment modes available in Lumpsum?

Investor can use payment facilities like Net Banking, Unified Payment Interface (UPI), OTM (registered e-Mandates with HSBC MF or RTA - CAMS ) and NEFT/RTGS.

What are the payment modes available register SIP?

The online portal currently offers payment facility through Net Banking, Unified Payment Interface (UPI) and OTM (registered e-Mandates with HSBC MF or RTA - CAMS).

What is Net Banking payment mode and how does it work?

Investor holding a bank account with any one of the banks enabled for online payment (via the payment gateway service provider) shall be allowed to make the payment by logging in to the Net banking facility available in the Bank website for the investments done through HSBC MF online portal.

Can I use credit / debit cards for Online purchase?

The credit card/ debit card options are currently not available for Online purchase.

Is there any amount limit criteria for Investment on HSBC Online Transaction Portal or Invest Xpress mobile app?

Currently, there is no amount limit for financial transactions on HSBC Online Transaction Portal.

Can I change my password after login?

Yes, you can change your password under the Investor Details tab in the Profile section.

What if I forget my User ID for HSBC Online Transaction Portal or Invest Xpress mobile app?

Forget user ID option or service is not available on portal. For detailed clarifications on the reason, you may write to onlinemf@mutualfunds.hsbc.co.in

Note: PAN can be used as the User ID.

How can I reset my password if forgotten?

You can simply reset your password follow below steps.

  • Click on the "Forgot Password" link on login page.
  • Investor will be prompted to enter Permanent Account Number (PAN).
  • On successful authentication, the password reset link will be sent to investor's email ID and mobile number as registered under online database.
  • Investor can reset a new password against the username to login again.

My Online account is locked. How can I unlock it?

For security reasons, the Username gets locked after 5 consecutive incorrect password attempts.

  • Click "Unlock the account" button on the login page.
  • Investor will be prompted to enter his PAN, Email id & DOB.
  • OTP will be triggered on registered mobile number and email id to reset password.

Without Login, can I download the statement of accounts on HSBC Online Transaction Portal OR Invest Xpress ?

You can get your statement instantly by using the Insta Statement of account for a selected period by clicking here: https://invest.assetmanagement.hsbc.co.in/auth/instastatement

Steps to receive Insta Statement.

  • Enter Folio Number
  • Select Statement Period – "Since Inception" and "Date Range"
  • Statement will be triggered on your registered email id in the folio
  • Fetches statement since inception (Default 5 years).

Note - You will not be able to use this facility if your email ID is not registered in the folio. Also, the folio should be in active status.

Post Login, can I download the statement of accounts and Capital Gain Statement on HSBC Online Transaction Portal or Invest Xpress mobile app?

You can download statement of account and capital gain of statement for a selected period from "Statements" main menu option, please fill in the details below and choose from the available options.

  • Select Folio Number or Scheme
  • Select Statement Tenure – Current Year, Previous Financial Year, Complete Folio Since Inception and Date Range

Post selection period, "Download" option will be enabled.

Where can the transaction status or reason be checked?

Once the transaction is processed/rejected, an intimation is sent via email and SMS to the registered email id and mobile number to the investor

The transaction status can be viewed under the "Transaction History" tab, where all financial transactions executed on the portal Mobile application for last 12 months, both post login and pre-login using the "Quick Transaction Service". The status will be displayed as "Pending, Completed, or Failed.

What if my account is debited while making a purchase through HSBC OTP and I don't receive any confirmation mail for the purchase made?

We request you to write to onlinemf@mutualfunds.hsbc.co.in along with a proof of debit and the details of the transaction, team will check and confirm the transaction status to you.

What is the exit load applicable for my transactions?

Exit load is applicable as per the applicable scheme category.

What if I am unable to proceed with a transaction on portal due to any error/technical issue?
